However, a suppository is what doctors usually recommend when it comes to internal conditions.
Cort-Dome
Cort-Dome is another suppository used for relieving a person of symptoms caused by internal hemorrhoids. It is used two or three times a day like other prescription suppositories. It works in the same way as the other drugs as it is an anti-inflammatory agent. The drug also works by soothing the body’s natural defense.
Anucort HC
Anucort HC is one of the prescription medications for internal hemorrhoids. This product is produced by G&W laboratories Inc. And like the Anusol, their product is also a hydrocortisone acetate that belongs to a group of drugs known as corticosteroids. Anucort provides the same kind of relief as Anusol. It reduces or eliminates feelings of pain, burning sensations, swelling, itchiness, and bleeding inside the rectum and anus.
Side effects and Precautions
Side effects from using suppositories range from itching, irritation of skin and hair, dryness, burning and so on. These are completely normal and should subside within a few days. However, if the side effects show no sign of improvement or are becoming worse, consult a physician immediately.
Before using a suppository, always check the label to see if there are any reasons not to take it. Some people can be allergic to the ingredients used in some of these suppositories.
