How long your hemorroids last will totally depend on your circumstance, including the severity of them, how often you have had them before, and if your lifestyle may be a risk factor.
Most minor hemorroids will last 3-4 days without the need for medication. If you have had hemorroids before, they can take longer to heal. Other factors that may make these last longer or remain persistent include pregnancy, obesity or if you partake in anal sex. Other factors that can contribute to their occurance include lifting heavy weights, sitting for long periods of time, or strain due to constipation. Internal hemorroids can often take up to 2 months to heal fully, however these often cause the least discomfort.

In very severe cases infrared coagulation treatment is used, this will often take 3-4 weeks to heal. Other surgical treatments are likely to take several weeks to fully heal.
Unfortunatley there are some chronic haemorrhoid sufferers to whom symptoms can last over 1 year. In such circumstances medical attention is required, but may also requires home remedies in providing relief for symptoms whilst it is medically cured.
