Hemorrhoids and yoga: The best poses to heal your piles fast

Hemorrhoids are a condition that occurs to a lot of people whether male or female, no matter what age, gender or race. It is an ailment that is not dangerous or complicated. It merely shares symptoms with more serious diseases which can be filtered through by a doctor. Once diagnosed, there are various ways that a person can get cured of it. A lot of doctors are conservative in nature when treating the condition and would initially advice cures that involve a change of lifestyle. This would include methods to speed up metabolism and escalate the circulation of blood in the body. Increased food intake of high fiber foods and frequent exercise might be suggested to address such a condition. So hemorrhoids and yoga is not an unlikely pair. Yoga helps decrease the occurrence of constipation and helps increase the blood circulation in the rectal area.

There are a number of yoga poses that make hemorrhoids and yoga a good pair. Some of these are:

1. Legs up. This is done while lying on your back while keeping it straight and lifting your legs upward supporting it against a wall. This helps improve circulation especially to the lower half of the body.

2. Sarvangasana or Supported shoulder stand. This is a more advanced version of the legs up. This is done by pointing your legs upward without any support. Then, you would raise your hips and you would prop it and your back with your hands and arms so that the majority of your weight is actually pressing on your shoulder and arms. This also helps increase blood flow to the lower half of your body and abdomen area.

3. Fish pose. This is done by lying prone on your back with your legs stretched and your toes pointing to the ceiling. Then you would lift your hips by curving your back and pushing your chest so that it is thrust upward. Your head should be pushed back with your chin pointing behind you and the crown of your head resting on the floor. This helps cure hemorrhoids because it focuses on the abdominal, pelvic, and sexual organs which includes the rectum.

4. Squatting posture. With your two feet firmly planted on the floor and one foot apart, slowly lower yourself downwards. Your knees should be pointing outwards and your back straight. Place your hands palm to palm into a prayer position. This pose helps avert constipation.

5. Child’s Pose. Sitting with your legs folded and your bottom resting on your feet, raise your arms and slowly bend forward so that your palms are flat on the floor and your back stretched. This helps blood circulate by giving your internal organs a gentle massage.

6. Forward fold. This is another advanced yoga pose. Stand with your legs closed and slowly lower the upper part of your body so that your chest is pressing against your legs while you keep your knees straight and your hands holding your ankles. This pose releases pressure in the area around the thighs and hips.

7. Halasana or Plow Pose. This yoga pose works by stretching all the muscles from the toes up to the waist thus assisting in improving the proper functioning of the veins including those within the anal and rectal areas. It also aids in preventing constipation and other digestive problems. With sufficient blood flowing smoothly in these areas, the effects of the condition are increasingly reduced later on contributing to its gradual elimination.

8. Gomukhasana or Cow-face Posture. This is one of the most popular yoga sitting pose. Also called cow-face, the position assumed for this yoga pose requires the lower limbs to be similar to the face of a cow. In this pose, the two knees have a gap that resembles the mouth while the shin acts as the side portion of the face; the feet then serves as the ears of the cow. Besides helping stimulate relaxation, it also helps in stretching the muscles in the lower back and the buttocks, which is helpful in increasing the flow of blood within the anus and the rectum, where piles are normally located.
