This product contains yeast, shark liver oil, beeswax, lanolin, paraffin wax, chlorhexidine gluconate, petrolatum and mineral oil.

To use this medication externally, cleanse the affected area first with mild soap and warm water. Afterwards, pat dry the area with tissue and clean towel. Apply the medication liberally over peri-anal and rectal area. When using it internally, make sure to wash your hands. Empty your bladder and bowel before application. To apply, attach the applicator to the tube. Lubricate the applicator. Insert it into the rectum about half an inch. Squeeze the tube to apply the medication into the rectum. Wash the applicator after use.

Another notable hemorrhoidal ointment is the Hyland’s Hemmorex Ointment. This ointment is made by the Hyland’s Pharmaceutical Company. Just like the aforementioned ointments, the Hyland’s medication aims to give temporary relief to the signs and symptoms of hemorrhoids. Its ingredients are Aesculus Hipp, Hamamelis Virg, Collinsonia Can and Resorcinum.

All medicines have side effects but most people do not develop any. Allergic reactions may come in the form of itching, rash, hives, difficulty in breathings, swelling of the face, mouth, lips or tongue. Rectal bleeding, swelling, redness and pain can occur in very severe cases.
