Foods you must eat to eliminate hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids can be really painful and uncomfortable especially when your work requires you to sit for long periods of time. It can be itchy and cause some bleeding in your anus. Hemorrhoids look like grapes so it is also called as piles. You may think that only pregnant women are prone to having this but you are wrong. Lack of physical activity, low fiber diet and straining in bowel movements may also cause hemorrhoids. But instead of using medications, you may simply exercise regularly and change what you eat. Below are some of the foods that help eliminate hemorrhoids.

Oils

Use the following oils when cooking or when making salads:

•Flaxseed oil- This oil has high levels of omega 3 fats, a group of essential fatty acids. Omega 3 oils have anti-inflammatory properties which will help reduce the inflammation of your hemorrhoids. Flaxseed oil is also high in fiber and is effective in reducing pain.

•Olive oil

Besides these, you may also take fish oil supplements but buy those with pure fish oil only as low quality capsules may let you experience side effects like bad breath.

Spices

Spices like garlic, ginger and onion are also foods that help eliminate hemorrhoids. Include these in your diet but remember to not eat too much of these because if you do, your condition may just be worsened. These three work by breaking down fibrin, a natural substance which helps repair damages in arteries, organs and tissues.

If you do not like eating raw garlic, ginger and onion then you may just add these as a topping to your dishes or add these to sauces.

Foods Rich in Iron

The following iron-rich foods will help build your blood:

•Steamed crab
•Chicken liver
•Dried apricots
•Prunes
•Pistachios
•Sunflower seeds
•Baked potatoes
•Sesame seeds, almonds and cashews
•Cooked Swiss chard
•Cooked broccoli
•Raisins
•Cantaloupe- Besides containing lots of minerals and vitamins, cantaloupes also has anti-clogging properties.

Juices

Juices, especially fresh and dark berry juices, are effective in eliminating hemorrhoids. Some of the dark berry juices which you should consume are the following:

•Black and red currant berries- Currants are rich in minerals, rutins, and vitamin C which make them able to clear hemorrhoids. They also contain a fatty acid called GLA which helps the body to produce enough prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are substances in the body which reduces pain. To eliminate hemorrhoids, drink at least 2 glasses of black or red currant juices.

•Blueberries, blackberries and cherries- Because of the substances called “proanthocyanidins” and “anthocyanins” which these berries contain, the swelling and inflammation of your hemorrhoids will be reduced. They do these by strengthening and toning the hemorrhoidal veins. Drink at least one glass every day.

Cook vegetables and fruits slightly. Do not overcook but don’t consume too much raw vegetables and fruits. Although eating raw plant parts is powerful in cleansing the digestive tract and the intestines, too much intake of them can be damaging to digestion. Keep a certain balance.

Some foods that are highly recommended are spinach, lettuce seeds, bananas, dried figs, black fungus, lily flowers, agar-agar seaweed, eggplant, wheat grass, honey, dried persimmons, and dried chestnut shells. Clams and eels are also good. Eating eels is effective in controlling the bleeding.

You need a lot of Vitamin C to prevent infection in the rectal area. Consume lemons, yogurt, tomatoes, tangerines, raspberries, sourdough bread, crab apples, vinegar, blackberries, adzuki beans, cheese, olive, grapes, sauerkraut, rosehips, pickles, hawthorn berries and limes.

Include these foods that help eliminate hemorrhoids and surely you will get rid of your problem. But again, remember that you must engage in physical activities often, too. Also, if you are above your ideal weight, it will be best if you will lose some weight to prevent hemorrhoids from reoccurring.
